Luxury Vinyl Flooring by PJM Flooring Services

What’s the difference between luxury vinyl flooring and normal vinyl?

Why luxury vinyl?

A stylish floor that is easy to maintain, luxury vinyl tiles and planks (LVT as it is known) is becoming extremely popular in people’s homes as a versatile alternative to more traditional floors.

One of the best features of luxury vinyl (LVT) is its realistic look, whether it’s wood, stone or tile effect they look very natural. One of our customers in Chester commented: “I thought it was real wood”.

We will always suggest luxury flooring as it has lots of practical benefits, as well as looks super stylish. Unlike other products it is warm and quiet underfoot and easy to maintain – a damp mop with hot water is usually enough to keep LVT clean.

It can be fitted in wet and dry areas as it is water resistant, making it a popular choice for open-plan living.

What are luxury vinyl flooring planks?

Luxury vinyl planks are wood and tile effect vinyl planks and tiles – they are not on a roll like you would find with traditional cushion floor vinyl.

There are a variety of sizes available – from planks to tiles, and they can be designed many different ways to give your floor a unique look and style.

Trusted Karndean suppliers and fitters

One of the most popular brands of LVT is the Karndean range. We at PJM Flooring Services supply and fit the full range of Karndean products.

Karndean offers a variety of products – wood and tile effect and the ever popular parquet style of flooring for herringbone effects on your floor.

One of the distinguishing characteristics of a Karndean floor are the highly customizable product ranges. Customers have the ability to create and design a floor that is unique to their personal style and space by adding decorative strips, borders and design features.

To complement planks or tiles, decorative strips can be used to create detailed features like a border or a natural looking grouting effect.

Other LVT brands.

There are plenty of other brands out there –  other manufacturers have LVT and as LVT specialists, PJM flooring Services supply and fit most products.

Customers often call us looking for Karndean and are pleasantly surprised by the alternatives we offer: we even have a specific parquet range of luxury vinyl flooring for that herringbone effect and more.

Some of our other ranges also come with decorative strips and grouting strips like Karndean to offer an even more realistic effect.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you for our amazing Karndean flooring, we absolutely love it.

Tom, Birmingham

Absolutely love our new parquet effect flooring – it looks so much like real wood but much easier to maintain. Thank you for the great service and fantastic fitting.

Sandra, Chester

PJM Flooring has just completed LVT luxury vinyl tiles in my kitchen after a recent flood. They turned up on time to tender for the work, came within my budget, and the floor was ordered and fitted the following week to the the highest of standards. I’m very fussy as a customer, but left Pete to fit it over 2 days and I’m so so happy I chose PJM to supply and fit my new floor. It’s AMAZING! 5*

  • What is LVT?

Luxury vinyl tiles and planks are exactly that, planks and tiles of vinyl that are individually laid to look like wood/tiles. Also known as luxury cushion flooring.

  • Can I have it in my kitchen/bathroom?

Yes, it is water resistant and warm underfoot, making it a perfect alternative to cold tiles for these areas in your home.

  • Is it difficult to maintain?

No – it is very easy to maintain. A warm water and a damp mop is all it needs to keep your luxury vinyl in fantastic condition.

  • Is it really vinyl?

Yes – but not as you know it, it’s thick vinyl in planks and tiles that are laid individually. This is why we also refer to it as luxury cushion flooring.

  • How long will it last?

Depending on the product you choose, 10-15 years is the guarantee. However, if looked after it can last way beyond this.

  • What Types of Flooring Can Luxury Vinyl Tile Look Like?

One of the biggest perks of using luxury vinyl tile flooring is that it can successfully mimic almost any type of flooring materials. From hardwood flooring to ceramic tile you can use luxury vinyl tile to make your home’s floor look like any type of flooring you can imagine. LVT flooring has many different designs and patterns to choose from so finding something that suits you should be easy.
